Nevada Interagency Civil Rights Award Process

 

PURPOSE

To formally recognize Nevada Natural Resources Conservation Service, Farm Service Agency and Rural Development employees who work with the agency to promote equal opportunity in employment and program delivery related activities and/or contribute to excellence in the management of such programs.

The Nevada Interagency Civil Rights Award is a recognition award determined by and paid for by each agency.

CRITERIA

 The following criteria must be met in order to be considered for the award:

  1. For the employee, group or team to be recognized for CR contributions, the contributions must exceed those described at the fully successful level for the CR performance element (or element which contains performance of CR activities) for all team members.
  2. Nominations can be made by any NRCS, FSA or RD employee, or customer.
  3. Award nominations must be supported by a brief narrative documenting accomplishments. Nominations should be neatly typed and limited to no more than two pages describing the basis for the nomination.
  4. Period covered: Prior Fiscal Year (October 1 - September 30).
  5. All nominations must be submitted to the NICRC Chair.

 GUIDELINES

 The Nevada Interagency Civil Rights Committee will use the following guidelines in evaluating nominees. The nominations need not address all the factors listed. The factors are not all inclusive and other factors not listed may also be addressed. The emphasis of the nomination should be on achievements.

  1. Significant contributions toward equal opportunity in employment and program delivery.
  2. Initiatives which have fostered an environment that respects and values diversity, equal employment   opportunity, and civil rights.
