Process for Handling NICRC Recommendations

  1. Committee Chair makes formal recommendation to the NRCS State Conservationist (STC), and/or FSA State Executive Director (SED), and/or the RD State Director (SD).
  1. NRCS State Conservationist, and/or FSA State Executive Director, and/or RD State Director reviews recommendations from the Committee.
  1. NRCS State Conservationist forwards these recommendations to the Office of Assistant State Conservationist (ASTC-Operations). FSA State Executive Director forwards these recommendations to the Administrative Officer; RD State Director forwards these recommendations to the Administrative Programs Director (APD).
  1. The Assistant State Conservationist, Administrative Officer and Administrative Programs Director coordinates the review, consideration, and follow-through on the recommendations by:
    1. Convening a meeting with the Program Managers and/or State Administrative Officers in order to obtain any further clarification of the recommendations and to determine the area of responsibility for each recommendation;
    1. Developing a proposed implementation plan (including costs) if the STC, and /or SED and/or the SD were to approve the recommendation;
    2. Preparing a written response for the STC, and/or SED and/or SD, reflecting decisions and the implementation plan items approved, sending a copy to the appropriate individual(s) for action; and
    3. Informing the STC, and/or SED and/or SD of progress and any problems, and informing the Committee as actions are completed.
