Dig It! The Secrets of Soil
Smithsonian Exhibit: July 19, 2008 - Jan 2010
Journey into the skin of the
earth and explore the amazing world
of soils in Dig It! The Secrets of
Soil. The 18-month exhibit at the
Smithsonian Museum of Natural
History opens on Saturday, July 19. Completely familiar yet
largely unknown, soils help sustain
virtually every form of life on
Earth. Dig It! will transport
visitors to the world of fungi,
bacteria, worms, and countless other
organisms.
The Smithsonian
is seeking docents for the exhibit.

by
unanimous consent, the
Senate passed
Senate Resolution 440 which
recognized soil as an essential
natural resource and the soil
professionals as playing a critical
role in managing our Nation’s soil
resources.
