Nevada State Technical Committee Meeting Scheduled on Nov. 16
Farm Bill Programs and Critical Watersheds to be Discussed

The Nevada State Technical Committee will meet on Nov. 16, from 9:00 am until 12 Noon, by compressed video in various locations throughout Nevada, including Sparks, Battle Mtn., Carson, Caliente, Elko, Ely, Eureka, Fallon, Las Vegas, Lovelock, Owyhee, Tonopah, Winnemucca and Yerington.

The STeC will review 2008 Farm Bill programs and policy including financial assistance and easement programs, Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP), Conservation Innovation Grants (CIG) and Farm and Ranchland Protection Program (FRPP).  Nevada resource concerns, ranking criteria, payment schedules, priority watersheds and financial assistance for conservation practices installed on public land will also be discussed.

Nevada State Technical Committee Meeting Scheduled on March 4

Reno, Feb. 10 — The Nevada State Technical Committee (STeC) meeting will be held on March 4, from 9:00 am until 12 Noon, by compressed video in various locations throughout Nevada.

The STeC will meet to review 2008 Farm Bill programs and policy.  Topics to be discussed include financial assistance and easement programs, including the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP), Conservation Innovation Grants (CIG) and Farm and Ranchland Protection Program (FRPP).  Nevada resource concerns, ranking criteria, payment schedules, and opportunities to provide financial assistance on federal lands will also be discussed.

Nevada STEC Meeting, March 13, 2008

The next meeting of the Nevada State Technical Committee will be held Thursday, March 13, 9 a.m. to 12 noon. 

Agenda items will include identifying priorities for state resource concerns, and soliciting recommendations for programs, applications periods and funding pools for the 2009 fiscal year. Other agenda items are a review of Farm Bill funding and allocations and an update on the 2007 Farm Bill.

The meeting will be conducted by video-teleconference from several sites around the state.
