References for Resource ConservationNevada Rangeland Monitoring HandbookIn February 2007, state and federal natural resource agencies, University of Nevada and Cooperative Extension, and agricultural organizations endorsed release of the Nevada Rangeland Monitoring Handbook and have recommended use of the concepts and methods contained in the Handbook. This is the second edition of the Nevada Rangeland Monitoring Handbook. One of the improvements in this new version of the Handbook is the inclusion of guidance on managing, and monitoring, to meet management objectives. NRCS employees with responsibility for helping landowners develop conservation plans for rangelands in Nevada need to be familiar with the concepts and techniques presented in the Nevada Rangeland Monitoring Handbook. Monitoring (i.e., "follow-up") is an important step toward improved management and sustainable, productive, rangelands in Nevada.

Acrobat Reader Fugitive Dust - A Guide to the Control of Windblown Dust on Agricultural Lands in NevadaA new publication available from the NRCS helps people reduce the causes of
fugitive dust. Airborne dust is a natural process in arid environments where
dry, windy conditions and sparse vegetation can result in high levels of dust in
the air we breathe. It causes respiratory problems and cardiovascular conditions
in humans, damages crops and homes, and can even cause vehicle accidents due to
reduced visibility. If you have problems with this Web page or need the information in an alternative format, please contact Liz Warner, public affairs specialist, (775) 857-8500 x 105, or Jonnie Eyler, Webmaster, (775) 857-8500 x 100.
